As I have learned and continue to learn throughout my journey, you never know what someone else around you may be going through. It’s easy to look around and see that times are very tough for many.
Offering encouragement to someone helps them to have hope, feel loved, cared for and not so alone. Think about those times in your own life when someone has taken the time to speak something kind and uplifting to you, and how it made you feel. I can testify wholeheartedly to all of these things and so much more. Encouragement from others played a tremendous role in my life, and still does.
Never underestimate the power of an encouraging word. With today’s technology, it is easier than ever to drop someone a line of encouragement. You can send an email, a text, or even the good old-fashioned card in the mail. One of my personal favorites is offering to pray for or with someone. There is something very comforting when you know you are being prayed for. Offering encouragement is always about recognizing someone’s needs, and reaching out to them on a personal level.
There are times you might think “Is there really anything I can say that can help?” Let me assure you, the answer is always yes! Rarely does anyone ever turn their back to a kind word of encouragement. I have had the privilege of building some amazing relationships in my life that started out simply by an encouraging word.
I recently read something that seemed to sum up this principle quite well. In his second volume of the leadership studies book “Habitudes,” Dr. Tim Elmore draws the comparison between a person’s spirit and hot air balloons. He writes: “We fill other peoples’ balloons by affirming them, meeting their emotional needs, and giving them hope.”
So who will you encourage today? Whose balloon will you fill with hope?

So true! Thank you for sharing and reminding us to fill each others’ balloons today.
They say that it’s not so much what you say but how you make a person “feel” that leaves a lasting impression…and simple words can go a long way!
Woah! I’m really diggong the template/theme
of this site. It’s simple, yett effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance”
between usability annd appearance. I must say that you’ve done a very good job with
this. Also, the blog loads very quick for me on Opera.
